Title: Managing
Director
Egon von Foidl, is a seasoned hotelier with significant
international experience in the management of deluxe hotels, resorts,
golf and spa operations. His practical skills, hands-on management
style, combined with a strong sales, marketing and PR/promotions
knowledge, as well as fiscal responsibility, has earned him high
recognition within the hospitality industry and awarded him the
prestigious "CANADIAN HOTELIER OF THE YEAR AWARD" in 2003. His interpersonal,
highly motivating leadership style has provided loyalty, high productivity,
low staff turnover and a strong referral within the industry. He
is recognized as a fair, honorable, highly motivated, detail and
goal orientated individual.
What makes his experience unique is he not only
brings many years of operational experience, but also re-positioning,
development, design, and opening experience of hotels, resorts,
condo/resort, golf courses and spas operation to the table.
PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE:
2002 TO PRESENT: MANAGING DIRECTOR, HRG International, PEARL
CARIBBEAN RESORTS, TORONTO , CANADA ST. VINCENT & THE GRENADINES
* Negotiate all land purchases,
tax and duty incentives, casino license with government agencies
* Work closely with architect on master plan
of these two developments, comprising of the 370 acre
Pearl Resort, Golf, Spa &Casino on the main
island and the 56 acre gated residential, resort
development on Bequia Island
* Develop the overall concept, establish clear
direction for architect on size of resort, affiliated amenities,
quality of design and FF&E
* Negotiate with possible hotel operators such
as Ritz Carlton, Intercontinental etc.
* Responsible for all aspects of project
from creation, development to management
2001 to 2005 MANAGING DIRECTOR, TABOO
RESORT, GOLF AND SPA, RENAISSANCE LEISURE
GROUP, TORONTO CANADA
* Redeveloped, repositioned 1,200-acre property
as the leading Resort, Golf and Spa destination in Canada .
* Completion and opening of Taboo Golf Course
the Home Course of 2003 Masters Champion Mike Weir,
voted three years in a row best new course in
Canada .
* Management of a second exclusive 9-hole course
* Planning of 20,000 sqf. European Spa
* 149 room/suites resort, 120 condominium hotel
with interval ownership structure and time-share component.
* Responsible for four (4) Condo Corporations
and it's affiliated structure.
* Secured IACC Membership, only second resort
in Ontario
* Re-branded and marketed all assets in Canada
, the USA and Europe .
* Initiated the Taboo Festival Celebrity Classic
Golf Tournament in association with the Toronto Film Festival.
* Hosted 3 Michelin Star Chef, and celebrity
chefs as guest chefs in restaurant "Wildfire"
* Had Taboo Chefs represented at James Beard
House in NYC, the US TV Food Network's Sara Molton Show,
the Canadian TV Food Network and did many charitable
events in NYC, the Hampton's and Washington DC .
* Managed assets for 31/2 years with over $40
million in renovation and capital improvements.

1990 to 2001 MANAGING DIRECTOR, CANASUS
HOSPITALITY MANAGEMENT CORP.

*Responsible for all operational aspects of hotels
under contract with Canasus.
* The company specialized in the development
and management of smaller privately owned deluxe hotels and
resorts in the USA , Canada and the Caribbean
, such as Metro Hotels Toronto, Marriott Key Largo, Shadow Rock
Palm Springs , Port Antonio Resort, Jamaica .
* Responsibility also included opening and repositioning
of properties.
* Key emphasis to improved OCC, ADR, REFPAR and
GOP for owners, as well as asset value enhancement.
1987 - 1990 MANAGING DIRECTOR,
LEISURE RESOURCES GROUP, TORONTO , CANADA .
*LRG's mandate was to develop and manage high
quality deluxe jewels of properties catering to a sophisticated
international client base.
*Responsibility included all aspects of operation
and management with emphasis on new development and
pre- opening.
*LRG in partnership with Gleneagles Resorts,
Scotland , developed the Lake Placid Resort Club, NY.
Other Gleneagles projects in Virginia , Florida
, California , Italy , Germany were researched and evaluated for
potential development.
1985 - 1987 VICE PRESIDENT, MANAGING
DIRECTOR, RITZ CARLTON HOTELS, WASHINGTON DC,
NEW YORK CITY USA .
*Responsible for the management of Ritz Carlton
Hotels, Washington DC and New York City , both Leading Hotels of
the World. Hotels were under license agreements
with Ritz Carlton Hotels and under the same high quality standards
commitment as the parent company.
*Renovation and positioning of both properties
were completed.
*The Jockey Club Restaurants , NY and Washington
, DC , gained fame as the place to be for celebrities and political
elite.
1981 - 1985 VICE PRESIDENT, MANAGING
DIRECTOR, SUTTON PLACE HOTELS, TORONTO ,
CANADA
* Sutton Place encompassed the Sutton Place Hotel,
Toronto ( A Leading Hotel of the World) and the
International Plaza Hotel, Vancouver , BC .
* Secured Leading Hotel of the World status after
one year of operation.
* Responsibility included the creation and implementation
of strategic business plan, development and control of
$47 million dollar renovation.
* Renovation included all 308 rooms and suites,
development of new restaurants and bars, as well as meeting
and ballrooms, business center and spa. A dedicated
floor of 18 deluxe suites specially designed for the entertainment
industry was incorporated as well as Stop 33 as the leading nightclub
in Toronto .
* Sutton Place was the home away from home for
the entertainment industry.
* Hired first ever sommelier in Canada from (Hotel
Crillion, Paris ), established 24-hour in-house butler service,
1 st chef's table with guest chefs such as Spago's
Wolfgang Puck, Fettucini Creator Alfredo etc.
- The International Plaza Hotel in Vancouver
, BC . Was known for its entertainment complex that featured
Ella Fitzgerald Sarah Vaughn, Lou Rawls, BB King
etc. The hotel catered mainly to leisure travel and
entertainment packaging.

1980 - 1981 MANAGING DIRECTOR: RELAIS
DE CHATEAU, THE WINDSOR ARMS HOTELS AND RESTAURANTS, TORONTO , CANADA
* Responsible for the operation of two Relais
de Chateau Hotels, The Windsor Arms and Millcroft Inn, as well as
four five-star Restaurants in the Toronto area.
- The Windsor Arms Hotel was the hotel of choice
for stars such as Richard Burton, Sophia Loren, etc. and was
rewarded as the "Best Small Deluxe Hotel" in
Ontario .
1978 - 1980 ASSISTANT GENERAL MANAGER
DIRECTOR F&B, LOEWS WESTBURY HOTEL, TORONTO , CANADA
* Responsible for the day-to-day operation of
this 428 room hotel in down town Toronto , featuring 2 restaurants,
2 entertainment lounges and extensive conference
and meeting facilities.
* Renovation of Food and Beverage facilities,
including the creation and management of Creighton's Restaurant,
(rated the best new restaurant in Toronto in
1978/79/80).
- Responsible for implementing policies, procedures,
controls, corporate mandates, budgets, marketing and sales plans.
ASSISTANT GENERAL MANAGER, DIRECTOR FOOD
AND BEVERAGE, HOTEL MARIA
THERESIA, INNSBRUCK , AUSTRIA
* Responsible for the day-to-day operation of
this small luxury hotel, with three restaurants, entertainment lounge,
café and catering facilities.
* The hotel was rated the leading hotel in Innsbruck
, catering to the international corporate
and tourism market.
Implementation of budgets, controls,
F&B marketing and sales plans and extensive
F&B promotion were part of responsibility.
EDUCATION
Obtained Degree from the School of Hotel Management
and Catering, Innsbruck , Austria and graduated with honors.
Positions in F&B and practical management
experience, covering all aspects of the hotel and resort industry
in Europe and South Africa were the next step to a successful international
career.
